Saint Neuro
Original Painting by Beata Dagiel
Acrylic on Canvas. Final measurement 50x70cm (19.6"x27.5") Unframed.
My 'Ordinary Saints' series is made to show you how each of us has a potential of being an amazing person just as we are.
This painting is accompanied with a poem written for a disabled friend, an amazing artist suffering from a motor neurone disease:
Saint Neuro
tied to these large wheels
stripped from your freedom
not even hoping to 'get better soon'
even this white bread
became too heavy
and it's a struggle to leave the room
thinking that maybe
it's better not t'be
feeling like you're no good anymore
yet your sweet smile
wraps me so warm
your loving eyes
make his heart thump
I kiss your numb hands
bowing before you
I thank your kindness
I feel your pain
he only lifts you
you lift his spirit
I pray that God releases your chains
how can I feel like
I've always known you
how come that you are
like an old friend
there's only one thing
I'm really sure of
it is that to me
you are a saint!
