Glory To The Light
Original Painting by Beata Dagiel
Acrylic on Canvas. 80x80cm (31"x31")
I named this painting 'Glory to the Light' as this is exactly the purpose of rose windows. Rose windows are not meant to let light in, instead they illuminate the colours of a picture creating this mesmerising effect that pleases our eyes. I achieved this illumination by using structure gel and white shades on my 'glass' parts. In churches geometric shapes incorporated in rose windows are very much symbolic. Mine are certainly not, but I did hide a considerable number of hearts in my painting. It's pure love poured straight at you!
